Originally this painting was inspired by my grandpa- when I was growing up I used to marvel at the pictures in his office of the longhorns he used to own. They truly are such beautiful animals!
The deeper I got into painting this piece, I realized something was missing and it felt really lonely. I last minute decided to add the magpie, labeling the piece, “No Longer Strangers”. This painting has a lot of layered meaning for me- yes it was inspired by my grandpa, but it also highlights the importance of connection, friendship and belonging. Something I think we can all relate to and cherish!
